Email Settings

Server-level email settings — shown as Central email settings — configure the email provider the Centro server uses when a tenant has no provider of its own. Any tenant whose communication channel is set to Centro (or Own and Centro settings) sends through the provider you configure here.

This is a Server Admin function. It is separate from the per-tenant email provider, which each tenant sets up under its own Integrations → Email Settings. The setup screen is the same; the difference is scope — central settings apply server-wide, tenant settings apply to one tenant.

Add a central email provider

  1. Go to Settings → Server → Email Settings.

  2. Select Add and choose a provider. Centro supports Amazon SES, Gmail, Outlook, SendGrid and SMTP.

  3. Enter the credentials for the provider you chose:

    • Amazon SES — access key, secret, closest region and the SES identities to send from.
    • SMTP — host, port, username, password and the encryption type (None, SSL or TLS).
    • Gmail / Outlook / SendGrid — the API key or client credentials for that service.
  4. Select Save, then set the provider as active.

Send a test email

Before relying on a provider, send a test message to confirm the credentials work and mail is delivered. Use the Test action on the provider and check that the message arrives.

note

Credentials — API keys, passwords and client IDs — are encrypted at rest and are never shown in full after you save them. Re-enter them if you need to change a value.

info

Central email settings are excluded when a tenant is cloned, so a copied tenant never inherits another environment's mail credentials.
