Room & Device Control
Centro lets guests and staff control the technology in a room — lighting, shades, climate and the in-room display — from the Centro app, without a pile of separate remotes or wall panels. This is Centro's Guest Room Management System (GRMS).
What you can control
| Subsystem | What it does |
|---|---|
| Lighting | Turn lights on and off, dim them and set colour on RGBW zones. |
| Scenes | Recall a named preset that sets several lights at once — see Scenes. |
| Climate | Set the target temperature, mode and fan speed. |
| Shades | Raise, lower and stop motorised shades and blinds. |
| Display | Power the in-room TV or screen on and off. |
| Service | Raise service and housekeeping requests from the same screen. |
How it works
Control hardware in the building is connected to Centro through the Centro Gateway, the on-site connector that bridges a room's equipment to Centro Cloud (see Architecture). One gateway can serve many rooms, and each room appears in Centro with only the capabilities its hardware actually supports.
Centro works with leading control systems — including Lutron, Mode Lighting and Crestron — alongside climate systems such as Airzone and Daikin, and Somfy motorised shades. Because Centro speaks to each system natively, guests get one consistent set of controls whatever the underlying brand.
Where you use it
- In the Centro app — guests and concierge staff open a room and adjust lighting, climate, shades and scenes. Changes are reflected live, so the controls always show the room's real state.
- In the admin dashboard — administrators configure each room's devices, scenes and templates.
The devices available in a room, and how they behave, are set up by your Centro administrator when the room is commissioned.
